Why Does Education in India Still Need More Attention?
How can education in our country be improved so that more and more children can get a good education? The present government should work as much as possible on education. But the question is, why is work being done on education in some places while in other places it is not happening properly?
Many schools in villages have been closed. Why were these schools closed? When will they reopen? Will they reopen at all? There are many questions, but in many cases, people do not get clear answers.
At the same time, some government schools that are still running are in poor condition. Why are these schools not being repaired properly? Does the government not have enough funds to improve school buildings and provide basic facilities?
What about private schools? Many parents feel that private schools provide better facilities and education, but private education can be expensive. If government schools provide good education and facilities, poor families may not have to spend so much money on private schools.
There is also a question about teachers and accountability. If teachers regularly arrive late to school or do not perform their duties properly, should there not be proper monitoring and action according to the rules?
There should also be regular feedback from every government school in India. If students’ performance in a particular school is consistently low, the government should find out why. Is there a problem with teachers, infrastructure, learning materials, student attendance or something else? The reason should be identified and the necessary action should be taken.
People pay taxes in many different ways. An ordinary person, including a poor person, also contributes to the country’s economy. So people naturally have questions about how public money is being used. When a poor family cannot afford expensive private education, who should ensure that their children receive a good education? Isn’t providing quality public education an important responsibility of the government?
If government schools are improved, many children in villages could get better educational opportunities. Families that are currently spending a lot of money on private schools may also be able to reduce some of that financial burden.
Education is not only the responsibility of the government. Teachers, parents, local communities and citizens also have an important role to play. But the government has a major responsibility to make sure that schools have proper infrastructure, teachers and learning facilities.
When political leaders and ministers ask people for votes, voters should also look at their work and their plans for important issues such as education, healthcare, employment and other public services. People can ask what a leader has done for education and what they plan to do in the future.
If government schools in villages become better, more children will come to school. If children receive good education, they will have better opportunities to build their future.
A good education system can change the future of not just one child, but an entire family and community. That is why education deserves greater attention.
