Why did Dumri MLA Jairam Mahto abuse the police officer over the phone?

People may have heard about police officers using abusive language, especially with people who go to police stations. They may also behave rudely with the public. Imagine how bad the people who experience such behaviour must feel.

Why am I saying this? Many of you may already know about the viral call recording of Dumri MLA from Jharkhand, Tiger Jairam Mahto. In the recording, Jairam Mahto can allegedly be heard abusing a police officer over the phone. What he did is wrong, but the question is: if the police use abusive or disrespectful language with the public, why is it considered okay?

When Jairam Mahto allegedly used abusive language, the police felt offended. But when the same thing happens to an ordinary person at a police station, why is action not taken?

This is the question being raised now. Jharkhand Police is reportedly going to hold a protest over this matter.
